Winter is upon us, which means it is time to celebrate Winterlights. As your Shepp it is my duty to inform you of our traditions. During Winterlights, we light candles with those we care about to symbolize hope for a new spring during the darkest time of the year. Personally, I think winter is a time of fresh starts and there is nothing to fear. Still, I do have fond childhood memories of lighting candles with mother and mama, swapping stories, and eating by the fire. Since you are now part of my family, I want to share those traditions with you. I have included a recipe for a Winterlights candle. Please share it with those whose presence you value. PS - I have recently learned from Jina that humans used to decorate a tree indoors for some peculiar reason. While I do find the tradition wasteful, my relationship with you has piqued my interest in human ways. Please take this tree and honor its sacrifice by making it a beautiful addition to your home. Of course, I have planted a new tree in its place.
