I've just been sitting at home watching my parents argue about where to put our Winterlights candelabra, and I realized that I need to do my Shepply duty and let you know what this whole Winterlights thing is all about. A long time ago, people were bored cause it was dark and cold and there was nothing to do. So they got together and lit a bunch of candles or whatever and made food and sang songs, and it made them feel better. So they did it the next year. And the next year...and now people think it's like a sacred duty or something to keep doing it. I'm a little whatever about tradition, but I'll never turn down an excuse to party. So whaddya say? You want to light some candles with me? If you want to, I sent you a recipe. You don't have to do it if you think it's totally lame. PS - I thought we could shake this year's festivities up, and do something human for a change. I asked Jina and she said you guys used to put trees inside your house for a festival they called Frostide. That sounded wild, so I included one in this package. I also gave some of your friends a heads up, so they can give you some fun goodies to hang on it.
