Dialogue with Beast

Beast: Maman... are you hurt?

Beast: (The creature's ears droop. It tries to shift to hide the injury.)

Beast: We help. Not hurt Maman more.

Beast: Grrr...

Beast: It okay. We just need know... your name?

Beast: (The Beast actively recoils, Echo flaring in response.)

Beast: (It washes over you, summoning another memory. You can hear a loud voice laughing in your ears, the cry of a baby.)

Beast: (Then the feeling shifts, from joy to anger.)

Beast: You're just going to leave? What about us? What about Hassian?

Beast: This is the kind of stupid I'm supposed to get up to, not you! Who cares about our reputation, we'll build a new one!

Beast: You don't come back and I'll never forgive you, Taylin.

Beast: (The memory slips away, leaving unshed tears in your eyes. Beside you, Ulfe trembles from the weight of the Echo.)

Beast: (The Beast shrinks away, looking at the two of you in what looks almost like shame.)
